Have a big ol’ game dump: basically all the interesting crap I managed to glean from the hours (and hours) of game events last week and over the weekend.
Dying Light: The Beast will finally launch this August. I’m desperately hoping it’s better than DL2, which was a mega disappointment for me. (WE LOVE YOU, CRANE.)
SCUM is launching into 1.0 on June 17. While I would’ve been stoked for this in the past, I’m feeling very tepid—especially after watching the two release trailers they published. Just… fix the fucking game, please.
I really, really loved Far: Lone Sails. Actually, I loved it enough that I completed the game, which I rarely do these days. (I also picked up Far: Changing Tides, though I haven’t finished it yet.) So I’m pretty stoked to see their next title, Herdling, is coming this summer and has a demo available on Steam. (Bummed it isn’t coming to Switch, apparently.) If you like adorable critters, take a look.
Continuing the trend of “everyone wants in on survival games” and “this game will be the first to make a true survival MMO,” welcome to Eve Frontier, a checks notes “hardcore survival MMO.” You can find out more—and become a paid founder—on their website.
As someone who could never imagine getting their shit together (or having the physical capabilities) to climb a mountain—like, people I know have climbed actual shit—immersive climbing sim Cairn looks neat AF. I wasn’t sure about the “survival climber” label at first, but after digging into it a bit… I’m interested.
Three years after I first joined their Discord—and two years after enjoying the original playtest—Blind Descent is finally back, sharing news again. There’s a new trailer, and a release date of “soon.”
Oh, hellz yeah Aphelion looks good scary even. I normally don’t do space games but am intrigued. Icarus….woot.
